Malvern Health Announces Recipient of RFP Award

07/13/2020

In May 2019, Community Behavioral Health (CBH) solicited a Request For Proposals (RFP) for Residential Addiction Services in response to the opioid epidemic in Philadelphia. CBH, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), and the City of Philadelphia partners have been closely monitoring the needs of individuals and families battling addiction, including tracking overdose patterns and service availability across the city. Additional residential substance use treatment services are needed to ensure immediate access for individuals whose treatment needs require clinically managed and/or medically monitored treatment in a 24-hour setting (ASAM 3.5 and 3.7WM).

Malvern Health is excited and proud to announce that Malvern Treatment Centers was one of the three organizations selected for the Right to Negotiate a Contract. Malvern Treatment Centers will be expanding its portfolio of addiction treatment facilities and will be opening a 75-bed unit at Constitution Health Plaza in South Philadelphia, 1930 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19145. This is the same complex where our existing 22-bed unit Inpatient Psychiatric Young Adult is based. The plan is to open this new addiction unit in September 2020.
